2Day 02
Trek Through Rhododendron Forests to Ghorepani
Morning in Tirkhedhunga begins with a steep climb on stone-paved steps to reach Ulleri village. Then continue on a gradual winding trail to Ghorepani, walking through serene and lovely alpine woodland of rhododendron and pine trees. After a great walk in the shade of the woodland, arrive at Ghorepani village. The Poon people of the Magar tribe, an ethnic hill tribe of Nepal, inhabit Ghorepani. They are also famous as Gorkha soldiers in the UK, India, and other foreign countries. This village, with many good lodges, offers marvellous views of the Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and Annapurna Himalayan mountains. The next early morning hike takes you to Poon Hill for sunrise and a panorama of mountains.

3Day 03
Sunrise at Poon Hill and Return to Pokhara
Start early before sunrise and hike for an hour to the top of Poon Hill at above 3,210 m. This is the highest point of the Poon Hill via Ghorepani trek. From Poon Hill, catch a stunning sunrise over a panorama of mountains, including Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna Fang (Vara Shikar), the Annapurna range of peaks, and majestic Machhapuchare Himal 'Fish Tail,' one of the unclimbed and virgin peaks of the Himalaya. The panorama also includes Mt. Manaslu with Lamjung extending towards Ganesh Himal on the eastern horizon. After a marvellous photo session, head back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Afterwards, continue trekking on a long downhill trail through forested rhododendron trees with views of the mountains. The walk then descends to the Modi River, passing the nice village of Bhirethati. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara and its serene Phewa Lake.
