Wadi El-Natrun Monasteries Tour
Drive in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to Wadi El-Natrun, the actual birthplace of Christian monasticism. There were once about 50 monasteries here, but only four survive today. Visit Deir al-Baramus with your Egyptologist tour guide. It is the oldest monastery and, in many ways, the most isolated. Proceed to Anba Bishoy Monastery, where the saint's body is still kept. End your trip by examining Deir El-Suryani, the smallest and most compact of the 4 monasteries.
