Itinerary

Day 01

Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu and Wetland Orientation

Transfer to the domestic airport in Kathmandu for a scenic 40 to 45-minute flight to Biratnagar. Meet your naturalist guide on arrival and drive approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Check in at the wildlife lodge and enjoy lunch. Take an orientation walk in the buffer zone to learn about the wetland ecosystem and migratory bird routes. Enjoy an evening walk along the Koshi River embankment for sunset views and bird sightings. Overnight stay at the wildlife lodge.

Day 02

Wetland Birdwatching, Jeep Safari, and Village Visit

Set out early in the morning for a guided birdwatching excursion in the wetlands. Breakfast at the lodge. Enjoy a jeep safari through grasslands, riverine forests, and floodplains in search of wild water buffalo, deer species, nilgai, marsh crocodiles, and diverse birdlife. Lunch at the lodge. Visit a nearby Tharu or local village to observe the rural lifestyle and traditional culture of the Terai region. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the wildlife lodge.

Morning Nature Walk and Return to Kathmandu

Optional early morning birding walk near the wetlands. Breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to Biratnagar airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Tour concludes.
