Day 01

Terracotta Warriors, Xi'an City Wall and Muslim Street

Hotel pick-up is at 8:00 AM. Visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum for about 2.5 hours. The Terracotta Army is one of the top attractions in China. It is significant because the hundreds of detailed, life-size models represent the army that triumphed over all other Chinese armies in the Warring States Period and ushered in the united imperial China era 2,200 years ago. It is considered one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world and one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. An a la carte lunch will be served. Continue to the City Wall for about 1 hour. Biking is optional. This massive city wall is the landmark of Xi'an and has stood for over 700 years, guarding the inner city. Walk or bike on the city wall for a nice view of the city. It takes about 1.5 hours to bike around the wall, or you may choose to bike just one corner for 30 minutes. Then visit Muslim Street for about 30 minutes. The Muslim Quarter is a fantastic place to wander. All shops and restaurants along the street are operated by Muslims. The stalls lining the narrow alleys sell almost everything you can expect. Return to the hotel at around 5:30 PM.
