Chureito Pagoda Oshino Hakkai Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako on the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals. Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, also known as Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō) is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji off in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine's main buildings. The location offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji in combination with the pagoda. The spot is particularly popular among photographers as it allows for some wonderfully stereotypical shots of Japan. Kawaguchiko Lawson The prettiest Lawson Store in the world with astonishing view of Mt. Fuji in the background and Kawaguchiko Station. Kawaguchiko Lake By far the most visited of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchiko serves as the main point of entry to this famous lake region. It is the second largest of the Five Lakes in terms of surface area and the second most shallow with a depth of only 14.6 meters. It has a surface elevation of approximately 830 meters, which accounts for its relatively cool summers and icy winters. Lake Kawaguchiko attracts especially many visitors in spring during cherry blossom season and in autumn when the fall foliage comes out in full force. Kachi-Kachi Ropeway Ropeway charges are not included in the package. This cable car brings you up the 220 meters to the observation point and offers fantastic views of the lake as you ascend. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. From the observation deck, which sits more than 1000 meters above sea level, there are panoramic views of the lake below and of Mount Fuji. Oishi Park Oishi Park on the north shore of Kawaguchiko is a park with a superb view of lake and Mt.Fuji at once. Various flowers bloom on the promenade along the lakeside according to the season. On a sunny day, there are many photographers who take pictures of Mt. Fuji, lake and flowers from early morning. On the west side of Oishi Park “Flowers road", you can enjoy colorful flowers throughout the season. At the end of the Flowers road, Kochia (summer cypress) spreads all over from summer to autumn, making it a popular photo spot. Fuji Honchodori Also known as "Honcho Street" that runs through the center of Fujiyoshida, is the road that connects both the city and Mt.Fuji. Gotemba Premium Outlets This destination will be visited only if you want to do some shopping and if you can skip a few places instead. This outdoor shopping centre allows shoppers to enjoy the views of Mt. Fuji as they take a look at the 200+ shops that are available. Not only can visitors shop, but the abundance of restaurants and food stores allows them to grab a quick meal in between shops or after finishing up a long day of shopping. This makes the Gotemba Premium Outlets a perfect location for anyone wanting to shop around and eat some delicious food at the same time. Yamanakako Lake Side Bowl Lake Yamanakako is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes and has the third-highest elevation of any lake in Japan. It is also the closest of the five to Mount Fuji and offers spectacular views of the iconic peak. Saiko Lake Lake Saiko (西湖) is smaller and much less developed than neighboring Lake Kawaguchiko. The views of Mount Fuji from Lake Saiko's shores are blocked by other mountains Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba Also known as “Healing Village,” the community is comprised of 22 traditional thatched roof houses that depict old-time scenery of the Showa Period.
