Pretoria's Historic Landmarks and Monuments
Morning pickup is at 8 am, and afternoon pickup is at noon. Our first stop after pickup is the Voortrekker Monument, a magnificent monument that showcases the history of the early Boer trekkers during the 1830s. At 10:30, we will proceed to Kruger House for a guided tour of the former president's house. After Kruger House, we will drive to Church Square for a guided walking tour. Historic buildings and a statue of the former president are also located in the middle of Church Square. We will then drive to the Union Buildings. Built in 1913, the Union Buildings house the administrative offices of the South African government. We will not be able to go inside the president's offices; however, the beautiful, enormous statue of Mandela is situated in the garden, and we will have a chance to take pictures of it. The city comes even more alive in spring with the beautiful view of the Jacaranda trees.
