Day 01

Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis Discovery

Get picked up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, meet your guide, and head south of Cairo. Reach Saqqara and see the highlight of the place, the Step Pyramid of Zoser (Djoser), which is considered one of the first-ever well-structured pyramids built. The Step Pyramid is made up of layers of mastabas stacked on top of each other, giving it its shape today. The next stop is the Bent Pyramid in Dahshur, constructed for King Snefru. The Bent Pyramid is a unique structure because of its bent shape, and much of its original limestone still remains. The final stop is Memphis, the old capital of Egypt. The most impressive feature in Memphis is the 34-foot-long Statue of Ramses II. You will be impressed by the perfection with which the statue was made and the attention to detail, which can hardly be matched even by today's standards. Finally, get dropped off at your hotel.
