Full-Day Rasheed and Rosetta Discovery
Your tour representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to start the program. Explore Rosetta, where life is still simple and primitive. It is 60 kilometers from Alexandria. You will take a motor boat on the Nile and visit an island at the meeting point of the Nile and the Mediterranean, as well as the castle where the Rosetta Stone was found. In 1799, the famous Rosetta Stone was discovered here. It was a granite stele with texts inscribed in three languages, which made a major contribution to deciphering the hieroglyphs. Rosetta is considered a large open-air museum of Islamic architecture. See the great number of Islamic monuments found here that do not exist in any other city except Cairo. Unfortunately, most of these unique monuments are neglected, modern buildings surround them, and unplanned urbanization has also affected them badly, causing much damage. Therefore, a great national effort is needed to save them and revive the historical character of the city. Finish the tour by returning to your hotel in Cairo.
