Full-Day Journey to Machu Picchu
The trip begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel, approximately between 04:00 and 6:30 am. The pickup time depends on the train option you choose and your hotel location, either in Cusco or the Sacred Valley. After pickup, you will be transferred by car to the Ollantaytambo train station, a journey of approximately two hours. Once there, you will board the train to "Aguas Calientes," also called "Machu Picchu Pueblo," for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. On arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, your tour representative will be waiting for you and will take you to the bus station. From there, continue with a comfortable tourist bus ride of about half an hour to the main entrance of the Citadel of Machu Picchu. After the bus ride, your guide will be waiting to begin the guided tour of Machu Picchu. The guided tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes and covers the most important places in the Inca citadel. At the end of the tour, the guide will leave you at a strategic point, and you will have free time to explore on your own and take as many pictures of Machu Picchu as you wish. You will then take the same bus back to "Aguas Calientes Town," where you can enjoy a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant, included in the price. In the afternoon, you will take your selected train back to Ollantaytambo Train Station. Once you arrive there, a representative will be waiting to take you back to the imperial city of Cusco. Finally, you will arrive at your hotel in Cusco at night, depending on the train option you choose.
