Itinerary

Day Trip from Corfu to Meteora and Kalambaka
Departure from Corfu at 07:30. Arrive at Igoumenitsa port at 09:15 and drive to Kalambaka. Arrive in Kalambaka at 11:45. Free time to rest for 30 minutes. Drive up to the Meteora rocks, with photo stops on the way. First, visit Agios Stefanos Monastery for 30 minutes. It is the most accessible monastery, as instead of steps, there is a small bridge to cross. It is ideal for visitors with low mobility. Our second visit is to the Holy Monastery of Great Meteoro for 1 hour. It is the biggest and oldest of the monasteries in Meteora. To enter the monastery, you need to climb about 160 steps carved into the rock. The monastery was founded in the middle of the 14th century. Later, you will have free time in Kalambaka for lunch. Departure from Kalambaka at 15:30. Remark: Once per week, the monasteries are closed on different days. In that case, we might visit a different monastery. Alternative itinerary: Visit one monastery in Meteora and, instead of lunch in Kalambaka, visit and have lunch in Metsovo town on the Pindos mountains near the highway.
