Drive to Syabrubesi and Trek Through Langtang Valley
Day 1: Drive to Syabrubesi From Kathmandu On our first day, we take a local bus to Syaprubesi (1550 m), a 7-8 hour drive from Kathmandu. We shall enjoy the scenic drive through Trishuli Valley, with Himalayan views and glimpses of mountainous lifestyle through terraced fields and rustic villages. Day 2: Trek to Briddhim From Syaprubesi, our trekking trail begins. We head toward Bridhhim (2229 m), accompanied by beautiful green forests, birds, and other small animals, while crossing several suspension bridges and passing tea houses along the way. We have a very short trek, but the trail climbs steeply. Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel We have a similar trek on this day to the previous one, and by now we shall already have a better sense of our surroundings. We have a short trek of 4-5 hours to Lama Hotel (2500 m). Day 4: Trek to Langtang Valley Today, we will enjoy another pleasant walk as we follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest until we reach Ghoda Tabela (3030 m). This surrounding area is densely filled with wild habitats, many small babblers, and many medicinal plants. After lunch, we will walk a few more hours on the scenic trail to Langtang village (3455 m), where we shall rest overnight. Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gumba Leaving the beautiful valley behind, we trek towards Kyanjin Gomba (3817 m), a principal monastery of the region. From here, we will have beautiful views of Mt. Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung (7227 m). Day 6: Rest Day at Kyanjin Gumba Besides resting and acclimatizing, we can hike around Tserko Ri (5150 m) or Kyanjin Ri (4773 m). We can also walk around Kyanjin Gompa, enjoying the views of glaciers, icefalls, birds, and yaks. Day 7: Trek back to Lama Hotel We shall head back following the same trail, going downhill through the forest and along the river, passing ethnic Tamang settlements that follow religious and cultural practices similar to those of the Tibetans. On this day, we walk for around 6 hours. Day 8: Trek back to Syaprubesi On this day, we have an easy 5-hour trek as the trail follows downhill through lush green vegetation. Day 9: Drive back to Kathmandu We take the local bus back to Kathmandu, following the same route as before, and end our journey upon reaching the city.
