Individual arrival and accommodation in Orvieto. Free time to visit the historic centre. In the late afternoon, meet the tour director to receive information about the arrangements. Enjoy dinner at the restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  2. 2
    Day 02

Cycle from Orvieto to Montefiascone via Civita di Bagnoregio

Breakfast, and then everyone in the saddle. Leave the Umbrian city and head along back roads to Lake Bolsena, following the Via Francigena towards Rome. In the morning, visit Civita di Bagnoregio, the "dying city". Pause in Bolsena to discover the medieval quarter, the sanctuary of Santa Cristina, and relax on the lake beaches. The tour continues among olive trees and woods, over gentle hills with wonderful views, up to Montefiascone, an important agricultural centre in the province of Viterbo, located on the edge of the volcanic crater and offering a magnificent view over the lake. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay.

  3. 3
    Day 03

Ride the Via Cassia to Viterbo and Sutri

Have breakfast. Ride on the ancient paving of the Via Cassia, still in excellent condition, through a hilly stretch. When you arrive on the plain, relax at the Bagnaccio pools, a series of thermal water pools that have always been frequented by pilgrims passing through. Once in Viterbo, do not miss a visit to the historic centre and the district of San Pellegrino. Continue through the countryside along trails and country roads towards the delightful small town of Capranica, and then on to Sutri, famous for the ruins of an amphitheatre carved into the tuff stone, the Mithras, and the beautiful historic centre. Enjoy dinner at the agritourism. Overnight stay.

  4. 4
    Day 04

From Sutri to Vatican City via Valle del Treja

Eat breakfast. Leave Sutri and its beautiful park, riding on back roads and enjoying the surrounding countryside. Continue to the village of Monterosi, then cross the protected area of the Regional Park of Valle del Treja, admiring the waterfalls of Monte Gelato, where several western and action movies were shot. Campagnano awaits you for a lunch break and a short visit. In the afternoon, continue through the Roman countryside until you reach the areas of the Park of Veio, an important city of the Etruscan period, and the characteristic medieval quarter of Isola Farnese. At La Storta station, catch the train to Saint Peter station, a journey of about half an hour. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay.

  5. 5
    Day 05

Cycling Tour of Rome and the Ancient Appian Way

Have breakfast. For today, the guide has planned an amazing tour to explore the Eternal City. From St. Peter's Square, passing through Castel Sant'Angelo, take the cycle path along the Tiber that runs between the Baths of Caracalla and the Circus Maximus until you arrive at the Park of the Ancient Appian Way. This paved road dates back about 2,300 years and is surrounded by archaeological sites such as the catacombs of San Callisto and San Sebastiano, the monumental complex of Maxentius, and the tomb of Cecilia Metella. Then continue to the Park of the Aqueducts, where the scenery is unique in the world: Roman aqueducts stand out in the quiet and pleasant Roman countryside. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay.
