San Cristóbal, San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán Experience
Meet your tour guide at the agreed location and depart from San Cristóbal. Enjoy the Tzotzil community and admire the blend of pre-Hispanic rituals with the Catholic religion. Arrive in San Juan Chamula and get to know this wonderful town. One of its most representative places is the Church of the People, which has very peculiar characteristics: a colonial construction lit by only a few windows, yet filled with many candles of different colours and sizes. Continue to the beautiful Zinacantán. Discover a community rich in secrets, history, and tradition, surrounded by a mosaic of colourful cultivated flowers exported internationally and pine-covered slopes. Here, visit the home of a family cooperative, who will welcome you with a regional drink called "Posh" (cane distillate). Observe how women work on the pre-Columbian waist loom. After seeing the samples they make, they will invite you into their kitchen, where you will taste delicious samples of the typical food of the place. Return to the beautiful magical town of San Cristóbal to enjoy a free afternoon.
