2Day 02
Salt Lake, Cleopatra's Bath and Great Sand Sea
Have breakfast and begin your great adventure to the salt lake and the Great Sand Sea. Proceed to the salt lake for an amazing swimming experience, where the water makes you float. The salt lake has hyper-salinity properties similar to Jordan's Dead Sea, which also gives it strong healing properties, much greater than regular seawater. In all cases, it makes for a wonderful swim. Drive to Cleopatra's Bath. The springs of Siwa are famous throughout the Western Desert. The Spring of the Sun, or Cleopatra's Bath, has been mentioned by travellers to Siwa since the days of Herodotus. Legend says that Cleopatra swam here when she visited Siwa Oasis. See the Great Sand Sea by Jeep 4x4 and visit the hot and cold spring of Bir Wahed. Later, enjoy some traditional Bedouin tea at sunset. Spend the night in a desert camp and enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner. Alternatively, you can sleep in a hotel, as we also have nice ecolodges in Siwa. Overnight in desert camp.(Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

3Day 03
Temple of the Oracle, Umm Ubaydah and Fatnas Sunset
Have breakfast and start with Alexander the Great Temple, also known as the Temple of the Oracle. It is a spectacular temple built during the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, and both the temple and its oracle flourished into Greek and Roman times. It is believed that Alexander the Great wished to consult the Siwan oracle to seek confirmation that he was the son of Zeus, the Greek god of gods, when he and his entourage arrived. A manifestation of the oracle was paraded through the city accompanied by eighty priests. After visiting the oracle, Alexander was later shown on coins with the horns of the ram, the symbol of Amun, the god of gods in Egypt. Proceed again to Cleopatra's Bath, also known as the Spring of the Sun. Legend maintains that Cleopatra swam here. Head to the Temple of Umm Ubaydah. Just 200 m from the Temple of the Oracle, this temple was erected by the pharaoh Nectanebo of the 40th Dynasty. Visit Gebel Al Mawta, or the Mountain of the Dead. This conical mountain lies a little over a kilometre north of Shali. Tombs from the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, as well as the Ptolemaic and Roman periods, are cut into the side of the mountain. There are four tombs worth seeing at Gebel Al Mawta. Enjoy the sunset at Fatnas. Fatnas is a small island in Birket Siwa that you can reach on foot or by bike. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sunset, with a spectacular view of the lake and Gebel Bayda and Hamra forming the backdrop to the west. Take a walk in the garden and see a variety of trees, including banana, date, and olive trees. Overnight in Siwa.(Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
