  7. 7
    Day 07

    Trek to Chukung

An easy walk on a gradually ascending trail and a short day trek end at Chukung. This is the shortest day of the trek, as the body needs to acclimatize and get a good rest to recharge itself. After this acclimatization day, most of the following days are at higher elevations above 5000 meters, and the walking hours are also longer.

  8. 8
    Day 08

    Acclimatization Day at Chukung

Chukung Ri (5550 meters) is a viewpoint near Chukung village. The viewpoint offers fantastic views of the mountains around the region and a close-up view of Lhotse (8516 meters), which is the major highlight. The viewpoint can be reached after a couple of hours of steep climbing. This climb also helps the body to acclimatize and prepares you for the days ahead.

  9. 9
    Day 09

Cross Kongma La and Trek to Lobuche

An early morning start is a must on days crossing a high pass. The day starts with a brief gradual descent, followed by a long steep ascent until the top of the pass. A brief stop at the top to enjoy all the surrounding mountains and the valleys left behind is followed by a steep drop, which only ends at Lobuche.

  10. 10
    Day 10

Trek to Gorak Shep and Hike to Everest Base Camp

Today you will hike up to Everest Base Camp. This will be the most challenging day of the trek and, at the same time, the most fulfilling as well. The base camp is situated above 5,000 m (16,000 ft). We start by hiking to Gorak Shep first. It is a small village sitting on top of a small frozen lake buried under the sand. We will have our lunch there and hike further, following the trails of the Khumbu Glacier. On the way, you will catch a glimpse of an intimidating black rock the world knows by the name of Mt. Everest. The trail will lead us to Everest Base Camp. We will spend quality time exploring the base camp and surrounding areas before returning to Gorak Shep to spend the night there.

  11. 11
    Day 11

Climb Kala Patthar and Trek to Dzong Lha

We will start early, and your guide will arrange everything for the early departure. The reason for leaving early is to reach Kala Patthar before sunrise. Kala Patthar provides the most beautiful sight for a sunrise contemplation over Mt. Everest and other Himalayan peaks such as Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Pumori. We will take our time, enjoying what Kala Patthar offers, before heading down to Dzong Lha (4830 meters).

  12. 12
    Day 12

Cross Cho La and Trek to Dragnag

Another early start to the day with a brief easy walk in the valley is followed by a long steep climb to the top of the pass. After the top, a steep drop follows and changes into a climb for a brief moment. Again, the trail keeps descending and only ends at Dragnag. Dragnag is located under a huge rock face, across the Ngozumpa Glacier.

  13. 13
    Day 13

    Trek to Gokyo

After crossing Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal, the trail joins the Gokyo Lake Valley near the first lake. A short and easy day ends at the third lake, commonly known as Gokyo Lake, with Cho Oyo towering in the background.

  14. 14
    Day 14

    Acclimatization Day at Gokyo

An early morning climb to Gokyo Ri (approximately 3 hours) offers stunning views of Cho Oyo (8201 meters), Makalu (8463 meters), Lhotse (8516 meters), and Everest (8848 meters), four of the top ten highest points on the planet. Apart from these, many more mountains of the Khumbu region can be enjoyed from Gokyo Ri, making it a popular viewpoint in the region. For acclimatization, a walk further into the valley on easier terrain leads to the fourth and fifth lakes of the valley. These lakes are considered sacred and holy to the people of the Khumbu region.

  15. 15
    Day 15

Cross Renjo La and Trek to Lungdhen

An easy trail by the lake starts the day early in the morning. Soon the trail turns into a steep ascent all the way up to the top of the pass. Similar views to those from Gokyo Ri can also be enjoyed at the top. A steep drop from the top leads into a new valley and ends at Lungdhen.

  16. 16
    Day 16

    Trek to Thame

The trail keeps descending and loses altitude at a consistent pace, reaching the village of Marlung. After Marlung, the trail slowly moves towards the famous village of Thame on easier terrain.

  17. 17
    Day 17

    Trek to Monjo

A drop into the river starts the day, and an undulating trail leads into Namche Bazaar, finally reconnecting with the same route taken at the start of the trek. On the way down from Namche, we take a last look at Everest and merrily continue the trek down to the river. The exit from Sagarmatha National Park and a brief drop lead to the village of Monjo and end the day's trek.

  18. 18
    Day 18

    Trek Back to Lukla

Trek back to Lukla via the same route taken before and end the trek there. We also bid farewell to our support crew and formally end the trek for them as well.

  19. 19
    Day 19

    Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. Our guides can help you with both souvenir shopping and sightseeing. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  20. 20
    Day 20

    Departure After Breakfast

Our representative will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal.
