Old Town Walk from Jungfernstieg to Elbphilharmonie
At the beginning of this tour, we will explore a large part of the old city and enjoy views of Alster Lake, with touristic ferries and swans that have become icons of the city. Afterwards, see Jungfernstieg - the street of the millionaires - and get closer to Rathaus (Town Hall) and its hidden courtyard with a beautiful Italian fountain. Hamburg is well known for its Gothic churches, so we will look at the grand Church of St. Nikolai, which holds secrets about World War II. If we have enough time, the guide will take you to the harbour area to admire Speicherstadt, the oldest and biggest storehouses in Europe, along with its narrow canals, and behold the modern port with its cruise liners, ferries, docks, shipyards, and cargo ships. If there is no queue, you can observe the city from the observation deck of the Elbphilharmonie (innovative Philharmonic). Historical, social, fun facts, intriguing stories, and active conversation will accompany our promenade.
