Day 01

Charyn Canyon and Kolsay Lake #1 Adventure

Get picked up at your hotel and start the spectacular journey to the unseen natural museum called the Valley of Castles. On the way, you'll hear the story of the travelers who came here for the first time with no maps and no idea what to expect. They encountered dangerous animals and, risking their lives, researched these vast territories and became famous. You'll also learn about the formation of the mountains, as well as the native names, their translations, and meanings. Stop at a local roadside market to buy some food for lunch. You'll see the beauty of Asian markets and taste delicious Kazakh barbecue or samsa. This area is famous for its tomatoes and tobacco. As we continue our journey, you will see the vast beauty of our country, with splendid valleys and magnificent gorges. About 4 hours later, we arrive at this magnificent open-air museum. Take a hike along the top to admire its beauty and take photos. After that, we go down into the gorge to feel the quietness of this place, if it is a working day. This is the best place to feel nature and look deep into your heart to understand where you're going and why. In such moments, you start to enjoy your life and realize how to make it better. After a 1-hour hike, we reach the valley near the river. We enjoy, eat, talk, and feel the freshness of life. After that, we take a tourist bus back from the valley and continue our trip through beautiful landscapes. About 2 hours later, we arrive at Kolsay Lake #1. We can have a snack at a local restaurant and hike, enjoy, feel the nature, take unforgettable photos, and take a boat tour at sunset if time allows. After that, we go down the hill and stay overnight in a local guest house in Saty village.

Day 02

Sunrise Trek to Kaindy Lake and Return to Almaty

Get up early and, after breakfast, go to meet the sunrise at the top of the mountains, with a magnificent view of the valley and river down the hill. This trek takes 2-2.5 hours. We return in time for the local 4WD tourist vehicle that will take us to Kaindy Lake. You may ride a horse to the lake from the parking spot or hike there. The hike takes 1 hour, while a horse ride takes 30 minutes. To enjoy the trip more comfortably, you can take a horse to save your energy. See the mysterious view of the lake, with the tops of flooded fir trees rising above its surface. Take some rest at the lake or hike to the other side of the lake if you cannot stop yourself from seeing more. Have lunch in Saty village at a local cafe, and after that we can go back to Almaty.
