Itinerary

  1. 1
    Day 01

Marrakech to Zagora via Ait Ben Haddou and Draa Valley

Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Marrakech, and leave Marrakech at 8:00 a.m. in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus. Cross the Atlas Mountains and arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. Many Hollywood films have been shot at the Kasbah, or Ksar. It is possible to visit the Atlas film studios on the first or second day. You will have lunch later. Continue travelling south and cross the second pass, Tizi n'tinififft at 1710 m, as well as Ait San village, the former caravan route for Sahara traders coming from 'Tombouktou.' Reach the first administrative centre, Agdez Village, which marks the source of the Draa Valley, with its six successive palm groves starting from Mezquita palmary and Fezouata, along with Kasbahs including the well-known Tamnougalt Kasbah. Keep travelling through the lunar landscapes and Pre-Sahara routes until you reach Zagora, the native region of the Saadian dynasty (Saadian Tombs in Marrakech), who ruled Morocco in the XVII century. Take a sunset camel trek to the camp, enjoy your dinner, and spend the night in tents.

  2. 2
    Day 02

Sunrise in Zagora and Return to Marrakech

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes while having breakfast. After these incredible moments, ride your camels back to meet your driver, then drive back to Marrakech. Stop for lunch in a local restaurant. Continue travelling to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your hotel.
