Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Ijinkan Street and Ikuta Shrine
Meet your tour guide and begin at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine at the foot of the mountain. You will be surprised to learn the importance of this little shrine as your guide shares fascinating details about its history. As you climb the stairway, you will get high enough to enjoy a beautiful view of Kobe stretching out below. Your guide will take you through the shrine step by step, so you will be prepared when you come to Japan. Next, continue to Ijinkan Street, where you will see Western-style buildings. The Kitano district was once designated as a foreign settlement, which explains its unique scenery and culture, with more than just a hint of Western influence. Finally, head to Ikuta Shrine and learn about its important role in creating this city. One of the most fascinating things about the shrine is that, although it is located in the middle of the city, it still has a little "forest" in the back, offering a peaceful getaway from the noise and crowds. Here, you will get to relax for a while before saying your goodbyes.
